Moonlight Madness - who is coming?

Play Away

Crumpit.PNG

To celebrate over two fun-tastic years in business, we are hosting a fundraiser to thank everyone for their support. Admission will be only $2 for the event with proceeds going to Anova - Women Abuse Prevention, because healthy kids start with healthy families.

You’ve probably heard that Crumpit Puppet Troupe will be holding two shows at 6pm and 7pm for the kids. When Liam and his talented friends aren’t in school, they keep busy performing at the London Public Library and birthday Parties.

Wondering who’s coming to entertain the adults? Take a sneak peak below:

Exploring FLAG

Play Away

Fly London Attractions Group (FLAG) is a collection of places that want you to visit. There are museums, non-profits and businesses all located near the London Airport. A whole new area of the city to explore!

Have you heard of the treasure trove of excitement and adventure by the London Airport? This area is quickly becoming a hub of activities to do with the whole family. My kids had a PA Day on Friday, March 23 so we decided to check out some of these places and ended up spending 4 hours exploring.

 JET AIRCRAFT MUSEUM

JET AIRCRAFT MUSEUM

We started our outing at 10am just as the Jet Aircraft Museum (JAM) was opening. My kids LOVED the noseart designed by grade 6 students and talking planes with a former pilot. When we went into the hangar they got to try out the Dash 8 model and dress up like a pilot. Did you know jet fuel is stored in the wings? I do now!

After an hour of hands-on education at JAM we walked up Crumlin Sideroad to the Secrets of Radar Museum (SARM). This was a cool spot full of early technology that the kids had never seen like old microwaves, televisions and typewriters. There are even some 1940s clothes to dress up in. Can you can imagine keeping a secret as big as radar for 50 years?

 LONDON AMATEUR RADIO CLUB

LONDON AMATEUR RADIO CLUB

The London Amateur Radio Club (LARC) is conveniently located in the same building as SARM. The LARC broadcaster let the kids jump in and pretend to go live. If you go on a Saturday you can actually watch them go on the air.

Every Friday at 11:30am 427 Wing (in the building next door to SARM and LARC) hosts a healthy homemade lunch for only $10 a person. On the menu that day was bbq chicken, baked beans, potatoes and vegetables, salad, tomato soup, bread and lemon meringue pie for dessert. We stuffed ourselves. If you love planes and have never been to the 427 Wing museum then you are missing out! The entire ceiling is covered with aircraft models. We tried to count them all but got lost at about 75.

After learning and eating so much we needed to burn off some energy so the kids and I walked back down Crumlin Sideroad and spent an hour at Play Away Indoor Park. While I used the free Wifi to write this up, my kids jumped out the last of their energy - the perfect end to great day!
